Hi All,
I'm doing a system restore from a workstation backup from a 7.5.1 box to a freshly build 8.0 box. I accidentally closed the browser part way through the restore. Can anyone tell me how I can tell when the restore is complete and also, if the backup usually took around 1.5 hours, how long should the restore take - its been going for nearly 3 hours so far.
Thanks in advance

Hi All,
just posting back in case it helps another poor soul in the same boat. Answers to the how do you know when, you just keep hitting Refresh this screen on the Backup screen in server manager. It eventually says:
A system restore has completed
It began at: Sun May 20 09:14:04 2012
and finished at: Sun May 20 12:09:41 2012
This also answers the how long - my backup is approx 1 hour 27 mins and the restore took about twice that.

Another way would be to watch /var/log/messages. There should be some clues to when a restore was initiated and when it has finished IIRC.
