Post by: Capion on July 20, 2002, 06:15:13 PM
Does anyone have a solution for this..
The mailserver is not sending (or recieving) any mail. When checking status all mails are qued.
I have a cable connection. The server is no. 1 of 3 pces on a hub..connected to a Motorola SB 4100E cablemodem.

It's quite possible that your ISP is blocking both inbound and outbound SMTP. You might be able to solve outbound by configuring the ISP's SMTP server as the SMTP Smart Host.

thank you.
my current isp do not accept connections like that.
Do You (or enyone else) know how to set up a "Smarthost" in the IMP or directly in the SME-server.
The problem is, I have an "external" email-server of my own, and I thought I could use that one for this... One thing is.. I have to login to make the delivery..the server does neither accept "strangers" sending email through.

NB !.
I know it must be something with the "delegate mail server"...

After actually READING the manual AND the texts in the "step by step installation" I found that I needed to install a netcard more (so now I have two cards), THEN the server could start accessing the internet also.
Then there where a couple of small codelines to make my other programs send mail, but the standard installated mail worked at once.
