Perhaps you accidentaly hit Ctrl+S in your terminal, which might interupt your servers output, what happens when you press Ctrl+Q?

Maybe there are some more processes not displayed by top that are hogging the CPU, it does appear to be very busy, so that's why it is not responding quickly to your earlier issued commands. What does this command show, assuming it does respond in a timely fashion
top -i
The sme reboot command is
signal-event reboot
To shutdown sme do
signal-event halt
Unfortunately it's hard to press the power switch if you are remote.
-
agreed on power id of done that already

thanks mary
-
well i need to visit now as its no longer responding to anything. So ill have to pull the power on it.
-
I have chnaged this to solved (i think)
Issue was / is hardware. 4 drive raid 5, sdb and sdd have failed. Had to unplug a drive to get it to boot (sdd) and its now running as a degraded raid 5. Ill chnage the board next week.
Sorry all nowt to do with SME as usual
