Hi everybody,
I try to configure an UPS HP T750 G2 using NUT on Sme Server 7.6.
I connect my UPS with USB cable and in dmesg I read:
..................................
Initializing USB Mass Storage driver...
scsi4 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices
USB Mass Storage device found at 3
USB Mass Storage support registered.
hiddev96: USB HID v1.11 Device [Hewlett-Packard HP T750 G2 UPS] on usb-0000:00:1a.0-1.5
I start NUT using:
config setprop nut status enabled
signal-event post-upgrade
signal-event reboot
Every five minutes I receive an email says:
UPS UPS@localhost is unavailable
With the command :
config show nut
I obtain:
nut=service
MasterPass= 14274347197847
Model=usbhid-ups
SlavePass= 71628026094078
status=enable
Anyone knows how to configure it?
Tks
Andrea

I think you may find that you need a more recent version of NUT than what is in SME to get that UPS working.
NUT in SME is V2.2 however it is currently up to V2.6

I not an expert user.
Can you tell me how to install a new version of nut?
I have always used a SME Software update to install a new software.
I never tried manually to install another software.
Tks.

Don't be lazy, if you read the link and the whole bug report it tells you
ie
nut 2.6 rpms, suitable for SME8, posted at:
http://charliebrady.org/nut-2.6.0/
Dowload rpm to a folder on your server, then cd to that folder and install as per the link given in earlier post
ie
rpm -Uvh ..........
