Title: Upgrading SME 7.x to 8 when sme is a Xen guest
Post by: jameswilson on June 12, 2012, 09:11:56 PM
I tried to do a yum update of an existing sme 7.x machine to 8. After the upgrade it failed to boot. As this isnt a supported way of running sme its not a bug as such. However a new install of 8 boots fine.

Is there a way of making it upgrade when as a xen guest or is the only way to backup and restore a new machine?

XEN cannot start due to an unsupported kernel. You need a kernel that supports xen paravirtualization.
