Title: Affa Contrib - State of the art
Post by: nicolatiana on July 09, 2012, 10:26:23 AM
Good morning
I've succefully installed the contrib on at least 3-4 SME8 boxes, with no problem. Two of them are working fine in my office on a virtual Sme reading and writing on NFS.
On another post http://forums.contribs.org/index.php/topic,48841.0.html (http://forums.contribs.org/index.php/topic,48841.0.html) Mary says:

You could also use Affa, refer to the latest version 3.x available from externally hosted site. Follow the link from the contrib wiki article.
This solution is working (tested both on SME and plain Centos box) and the the site http://wiki.nikoforge.org/download/affa/ (http://wiki.nikoforge.org/download/affa/) offers a script to convert sme-like config in a .conf/.ini but on SME you loose the SME specific "rise" feature that, obviously, is specific to SME contib.
At last it seems that the contrib is no more mantained: is it true ?

I still use the sme server version of affa without issues (apart from those of my own making)
But afaik it is no longer maintained and has become its own project outside of sme.
