Title: Where is the SAIL interface?
Post by: madadam on July 24, 2012, 12:32:05 PM

Now this is definitely a stupid question, but where has the management interface for SAIL gone?

I've just installed the complete ISO from http://sailpbx.com/iso/SME8b7/3.2-beta/SME8A18V320B1.iso. I've never installed a complete ISO before, having only manually installed the SAIL package onto an existing SME 7.x system.

The wiki says the management interface should be found at https://domain.com/sail, but I get a 404 error. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Adam

Hi,

It is under:
https://your.local.sail.ipaddress:8443 (https://your.local.sail.ipaddress:8443)

Take a look:
http://www.sailpbx.com/mediawiki/index.php/Beta_V3R2 (http://www.sailpbx.com/mediawiki/index.php/Beta_V3R2)

Thanks for that. Somehow I missed it on the wiki and went straight to ISO Install on SME Server 8, I didn't notice the reference to V3R2 a few lines down.

What is the current wisdom on running V3 SAIL for a production machine? Is 3.1 the preferred release for this or has 3.2 proven itself to be quite stable?

Cheers,

Adam

HI there

The release which we currently send to our customers is 3.1.1.  3.2 is a stepping stone to 4.0 and it has a lot of the 4.0 infrastructure in it like a new agi and, as you've discovered,  a new http instance.  However, it seems quite stable up to press.  We'll be releasing 4.0 beta in a few weeks which is basically, 3.2 with a new front-end (very spiffy).

Kind Regards

Well I might hold off for a while then and take a look at version 4. To tell the truth I didn't like the interface to 3.x that much. I thought I'd do a new fresh install of 2.6 which I know and from then upgrade to 3.x down the track a little bit.

Cheers,

Adam
