Hi Forum, after updating 7.6 to 8 following message appears:
--> Processing Conflict: kernel conflicts e2fsprogs < 1.37-4
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
kernel-2.6.18-308.11.1.el5.x86_64 from smeupdates has depsolving problems
--> kernel conflicts with e2fsprogs
Error: kernel conflicts with e2fsprogs
You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: package-cleanup --problems
package-cleanup --dupes
rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest
The program package-cleanup is found in the yum-utils package.
How do I solve that problem?

Please show the output of
rpm -q e2fsprogs
and
rpm -q --whatrequires e2fsprogs
On an updated sme8.0 I get
rpm -q e2fsprogs
e2fsprogs-1.39-34.el5_8.1
rpm -q --whatrequires e2fsprogs
initscripts-8.45.42-1.el5.sme
mkinitrd-5.1.19.6-75.el5
Have you run
yum clean all
then wait a few minutes for yum to close
then do
yum update
