Hi there.
I was working with LDAP ldif file on /etc/e-smith/db/ldap, because the LDAP addressbook is not updating the SMEserver users, and is not complete, I delete and put a copy from backup, trying to make it work.
On internet i found this command
/etc/e-smith/events/actions/ldap-update ldap-update
but the command result in:
failed to modify entry for uid=sistemas,dc=info,dc=XXX,dc=com: No such object at /etc/e-smith/events/actions/ldap-update line 167, <DATA> line 283.
In all entries.
I was looking in the forum and the bug database how to rebuild the LDAP database, but I haven't found anything to rebuild. The LDAP server is not working and the horde (webmail) shows: "(32) No such object"
Don't know what to do.

To update the SME authentication LDAP data, I would expect you to want to run "signal-event ldap-update" - I don't know if this functions differently than the command you've shown.
When you say "ldap address book", are you talking about the sme ldap authentication data, or about a shared horde ldap address book?

hi mmccarn, I'm working with SME 7.5.1, I have run your command and stiill doesn't work, and yes Iḿ working with shared horde ldap address book (that i use with outlook).

AFAIK there is no LDAP write capability support from other connected devices with sme 7.5.1. Any sme 7.x LDAP contrib was very flaky and not really ready for production.
Your best approach is to upgrade to sme8.0 which does have limited LDAP support, note it is still considered experimental, but developers are hoping to have LDAP ready for a sme8.1 release. When ? Not specified, due probably to the small developer community & lack of manpower resources.
See the LDAP section in sme8.0 release notes

I reboot the machine after a
signal-event email-update
signal-event signal-event post-upgrade; signal-event reboot
And I have the LDAP address Book again.
