Hello..I'm new into the e-smith thang...First impressions are very good..but I still have some questions.....
When I access the server manager and go to the workgroup tab to change the "windows workgroup"name into something I want it doesn't last long. When I change it press the save button and go to the same tab the default name (mitel-networks) appear.
The same thing happens when I change the ssh and ftp settings. I can change them but they don't stay permanent...
Am i forgetting something???

Sorry..forgot to mention that I have version 5.5

Another thing....
The webmail settings doesn't stay enabled either...
Somebody please help me with this...

I hate to give a M$ type response, but.... you could try re-loading. I've setup several of these servers and none of them have experienced the problems you describe.
Do you get any errors after you click Save? Does it say something like "Changes Saved Successfully" or just go blank?
What browser are you using? The pages aren't getting caught up in the browser cache are they? This might cause them to display their original settings, but actually be working.

Normally I'm using opera vs 6.0..
after clicking the save button it says that saves are succesfully writen to the server..but as soon as I click on the same tab again it comes with the default settings (disabled)
I found out that I can use the ftp from the local network (not able to test it from a public place yet) but I stil can't (locally) ssh to to the server....
Same with webmail..according to the server-manager it is disabled...when I enable it it says the save is succesfull and when I lick on the tab again it says that it is disabled....The starnge thing is that I can go to https://myhost/webmail....
so apparantly it works......
What is wrong in my config????

Tony,
Can I suggest that perhaps after you have made a change, close the browser and open a new one. It sounds like you are caching the old configs.
Are you just using your back button to check the changes or re-clicking on the navigation link.

You're right....When I acces the server with MS IE it shows me the changes while Opera doesn't.......

Have you tried Mozilla? Or Netscape?

No...I'm perfectly happy with my Opera...Both netscape and mozilla are to slow -- personal opinion :) --

I'm using a browser called OffByOne.
http://www.offbyone.com
Very small, very fast.... could be a little easier to use, but worth a try IMO.

No you're not *perfectly* happy - it doesn't always work as you expect :-)
