Title: Remote host said: 551
Post by: jonash on September 15, 2012, 12:54:42 PM
Hi,
When a user sends mail to 10-15 persons she gets the message back with these errors:
Quote
<abcdef@gmail.com>:
127.0.0.1 failed after I sent the message.
Remote host said: 551 145281141 message sending quota exceeded, try later

for most of the recipients. They are all on different mail domains, i.e. gmail, hotmail, etc. The mail is very small, just 2-3 lines of text.

Is this a problem on the SME side or on the recieving side?

Any ideas?

Jonas

Neither. That problem is at your SMTPSmartHost, which is applying message limits to your internet connection. Either send fewer messages, pay them more money to get a higher limit, or change to a different service provider.

I guess, that is a question, although it parses as a statement with a question mark.

I don't know. That message is from the SMTPSmartHost, and you'd need to have access to its source code or documentation to know what the message means.
