hi,
got an email in admin with message as follows:
/etc/cron.daily/sa_update:
http: GET http://daryl.dostech.ca/sa-update/asf/1388977.tar.gz request failed: 404 Not Found: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN"> <html><head> <title>404 Not Found</title> </head><body> <h1>Not Found</h1> <p>The requested URL /sa-update/asf/1388977.tar.gz was not found on this server.</p> <hr> <address>Apache/2.2.6 (Fedora) Server at daryl.dostech.ca Port 80</address> </body></html>
any idea why the url is down?
and more frightening the url is unknown to me... should i be alarmed?
any kind help or advise please. tia

It's a spamassassin update & the site is temporarily busy, it probably gets thousands of update requests every day.

I've been seeing several failure messages from the sa-update cron event every night for the last 3 or 4 days. Its not hitting all the servers I monitor, but either the traffic is very high or the site has a problem of some sort. Last night alone, I had 5 failure messages from different servers.
:) I came on to check if others were seeing the same failures....

It will self correct in time, be patient. It's out of your control anyway.

That's not a "temporarily busy" issue - it clearly says "404 Not Found". I expect the problem is an out-of-date mirror site.
