Title: Caller ID pass through
Post by: del on October 26, 2012, 07:08:46 PM
Hi All,

I was wondering if it is possible to pass the caller ID through on a diverted call. I use *21* to divert calls to my mobile when I'm out and about, when a call comes in it gets diverted as expected but when my mobile rings it shows the caller id as my voip line that is used to forward the call, is there anyway I can receive the caller id of the actual caller? Thanks for looking.

Regards,
Del

del,

technically it is possible (with asterisk too). BUT, your operators (fixed and mobile) are bound by law to prevent spoofing, so you can not simply receive a CID from one provider, change the CID, and forward it to another provider.

Contact your providers and check their policies and rules.
