Title: instructions sought for installing SMEServer 8.0 on a VPS

More than a few months ago RequestedDeletion wrote about successfully installing or having installed - SME on a Virtual Server in Europe. Some of the links he provided are dead and his hosting Co does not seem to be in Australia. Anyway, I have a fairly good relationship with my host and really don't want to change.

RequestedDeletion's post was a little sketchy in detail on how it was installed. I'd like to install or have installed SME on one of my virtual servers. Thanks to 'Mary' I was pointed to the last post on the topic but as I said, reference links no longer work and trying to continue the conversation flags a scary warning (LOL) about how old it is.

Anyone able to help here will be forever in my debt.

You need to try a little harder. The page link appears broken but the parent website is still accessible & has useful information.

Also you would be best to ignore the warning & post to the old thread I directed you to as RequestedDeletion (hsing foo) will get a copy by email & may well reply.

It looks to me that the hosting company may have servers in Hong Kong.
