Title: Kronolith ?
Post by: Tim VERBA on July 26, 2002, 01:58:15 AM
Hi!

I've read all the posts about this addon. Is there a simple way to install it ? My SME 5.5 worked well and I tried to install kronolith himself: My webmail was broken! Now it's reinstalled but I would like to know exactly what i have to download and which commands I have to use.

Thanks in advance for your great help!

Tim

Kronolith needs the horde 2.1 framework.  5.5 ships with the the 2.0 framework.  I have installed the additional horde products on a test box and it did work.  But, I had to do a lot of customizing.  I am hoping that mitel updates to the 2.1 framework in the 1st update blade, then I may start looking at the additional components.  You can go to www.horde.org to download the 2.1 framework.

Good Luck,

JB

I installed Kronolith and Nag without any problems.  Except one small bug.  It seems that if you select no end date on the Recur Until when adding a new item, it won't work correctly.  The recur date gets set to a date in the past.  I tried to install the latest Event.php file, but that didn't help at all.  Anyone else have this problem?  Dan, I noticed you have a mcal source rpm on your site--are you setting up a way to install mcal into php?
thanks,
Nate

Nate, it's on my to-do list, but not too high at the moment.  I see that redhat and arvin have both managed it, in different ways; I'd like to figure out how to do it under RH 7.1/7.2, as that would get it running for SME 5.1.2/5.5.

Sounds good.  What kind of advantages would be gained from using mcal vs. using mysql for the calendar?

In Event.php, the recur end date gets the value 9999 12-30.  If I switch the year to 2030 everything works.  Any idea why?  Does E-smith have a problem with dates that big?  Or is mysql causing the trouble?
thanks
