Someone might be able to correct a few misconceptions or write this procedure better
I am finding more and more computers don't have CD Drives and I want to use a USB drive for installation
I've been successful with this procedure:

I guess that being successful mean's it's good enough for me, but it is a little clumsy in these respects
- The Grub loader is written automatically requiring the user to clean up
- The requirement for the iso file to be copied to the disk - even though the rpms are present on the stick

For less than £20 just get a (disposable?) USB CD drive...
