Cool,
Is there an installer package for Joomla! 2.5.8? that we can use or a how to install guide.
Just asking as I only have one prod server and would hate to mess it up.
Thanks,
Josip

no you will have to install it yourself, but it is easy.
you will have to install phpmyadmin first, as you will have to create the database. then down load joomla 2.5.8 zip, unzip and copy into ibay html folder. let me know if you need more info
thanks

John,
Ok I have phpmyadmin installed, I have created 2 Data Based for each Ibay that i will be installing Joomla! 2.5.8.
Is there anything else needed as I will be dropping Joomla! 2.5.8 into each ibay now and testing.
Thanks,
Josip

hi
you might also want to get WinSCP, http://winscp.net/eng/download.php, because of the security setup of SME you will not be able to use joomla to upload any photo's. You create the folders with joomla media then upload the photo's / documents with WinSCP. I know there is a way to sort this out i just haven't had the time to do it. i prefer to keep my servers secure, i haven't had one joomla site hosted on SME hacked. i use WinSCP instead of setting up FTP. Just found it easier and i can use it remotely.
Once your data bases setup just drop the unzipped joomla files and follow the install instructions.
Let me know how it goes.

Just for creating a MySQL database phpmyadmin is not required at all. And as with all production servers, 'less is more'.

Hello,
seem to be getting;
Could not connect to the database. Connector returned number: Unable to connect to the Database: Could not connect to MySQL.
I was attempting my root loginand password when asked to connect to my DB that was created.
-
did you set database as local host?
-
I think I got it, went into PHPMYADMIN and created a separate user name for that DB seems to be working regarding the install I will play with Joomla tomorrow to see if its working?
Thanks for the help :)
