Is it by design that the /var folder was left out of the smesailenv_4.0.0-10 rpm expecting that the -6 rpm be first installed before using it?
Must the httpd.conf and sslcerts files be in both /opt/sark/httpd and /opt/sark/etc/httpd folders at the end of the update or can the entire /opt/sark/httpd be removed?
-
It appears that the said folder contents have been moved to sail_v4.0.0-34 rpm in /opt/sark/service folder.

Yes, the service directories were all moved into /opt because Debian keeps them differently to RHEL. Instead we symlink to them now from the correct place in the relevant release. This gets set up in the environment RPM/DEB.
re httpd - I've put a fix into smesailenv-4.0.0-11 for this. It isn't causing any problems but you are quite correct that it needs to be cleaned up.
Kind Regards

Can this smesailenv rpm be used for installing SAIL on plain CentOS (without SME) or is there another one?
smesailenv-4.0.0-11 has not yet been released.

No. The two environments are quite different, even tho' they are based upon the same upstream distro. We currently don't have any plans for a vanilla RHEL/CentOS SARK V4.0.0.
