Title: Advanced opinion Question
Post by: MM on July 28, 2002, 09:20:55 AM
I read somewhere here that because there was no make utility in e-smith it is a good idea to use another distro to do all your grunt/compile work and then only after you have a solution move it to e-smith

I'm wondering with so many distros is it a wise choice to use something other then RedHat for any developement that will be moved to e-smth or does it really matter????

Just download the DevTools packages from:
http://myezserver.com/downloads/mitel/contrib/dev-tools/
then you can compile to your hearts content.

It would be unwise to use anything other than the appropriate version of RedHat (or the RedHat development packages). You will have lots of problems with incompatible packages otherwise.
