Title: New PHP Agent?
Post by: newburns on February 22, 2013, 04:53:30 AM
Trying to get an understanding of what the Relic PHP Agent is. From what I've read and Google-d, it is not a PHP replacement, but it seems to install that way. Is this something similar to Zend? I have the Zend extension installed for the PHP supplied with SME, which allows me to use scripts that were purchase by developers using Zend Encryption. Is this similar as an enhancement, or is this a complete PHP replacement?

I am not qualified to dive into the effects, usage, and customization of PHP, so I don't want to alter the basic functions or package that is shipped standard with SME.

Probably stay away from such proprietary stuff piggybacking onto OpenSource PHP! They sell 40 digit hex licence keys ..... ! Encryption ! Try DeZender.net.

I was just asking as the new WordPress W3TC plugin recommends the PHP agent for additional functionality.

I find that WordPress CMS is running my life. Whenever it asks for something additional, I go through a lot of work to find out how to make it work for SME. And its stuff that not generally important, just stuff like reducing my load page time by 2 secs. or raising my YSlow grade from a 90 to a 94. It's so important to me, but it's really not!
