Just a FYI, for anyone using HP N40/54Ls and are utilising the spare SATA connection to run a SSD or HD in the CD bay as their OS drive.
The increase in performance of a SSD in particular when the Modded Bios, info here (http://homeservershow.com/hp-proliant-n40l-microserver-build-and-bios-modification-revisited.html), is applied is most pleasing, better than sliced bread. :-)

Also, the modded BIOS enables Port-Multiplier support on the E-SATA port. Great if you want to add extra drives in an external enclosure.
