Title: Remote password changes
Post by: Dave on July 31, 2002, 03:31:36 AM
I'm a new SME user and I'm hosting a couple web sites.  Had a bit of trouble with the install but everything is working great so far.  I have a question regarding email and/or users.

One of my sites is for a local community orchestra and I'd be interested in creating email addresses for each member of the group.  It's easy enough to set up but is it possible for the users to remotely change their email password?

Thanks for any info...

I was hoping to be able to send just this:

http://edocs.mitel.com/6000_SME_Server/smeserveruserguide/English/admin-useraccounts.html#user-passwords

I tried it againsed my server from outside my LAN and got a '403 forbidden' error. This could be something with my work LAN though.

I have read this part over and over again in the manual. I have everything (i think) set properly but still cannot grant access to users outside my internal net the ability to change thier password when they go to http://www.domain.com/user-password they get the 403 not authorized error for the page. Any help with this would be appreciated
Thanks
Rick

I've had the same problem, it'd be nice to allow my users to change their password remotely but it doesn't look like SME will allow this.

If anyone has any additional info or other options, I'd be interested to hear about it.

Thanks.
