Title: created .forward to no avail
Post by: Jerry on July 31, 2002, 10:38:49 PM
Hello All,

I would like to create a cheap listserv ability by just putting a .forward in a user's home directory.

The problem is, my SME server seems to ignore .forward files.  Can anyone fill me in on how/why SME's sendmail server ignores .forwards, and how it does implement forwarding addresses?

Many thanks for any insights you can provide.

SME doesn't run sendmail.  it runs Qmail.

Check here:

There is an addon that will make qmail process .forward files, but its not really needed for what you are saying.

If you have a .qmail file in ~home then put the info from the .forward file in there. If there is no .qmail just rename the .forward to .qmail
