Linux SME 7.6 server/gateway mode- all updates installed.
Initial problem was I couldnt install any contribs (SME7admin or sysmon). I tried checking and updating the repository data by running yum clean all- may have messed up some configs??
can anyone shed some light.
here is the output when running a localinstall of a system-monitor software and also when running a check for repository list of contribs...

Have you setup the SME7 smecontribs repo to point to a repo named sme7contribs?
See here for details HERE (http://wiki.contribs.org/SME8.0_Contribs_QA#Setup)

Hi Terry, :-)
Ive run the script then tried to do local install of some software- error.
Then tried to run a contrib install (sme7admin)- error.
Does my config show that the repository location is correct?
here is the output...unsure why it keeps having issues. Thanks for the feedback.

As far as the contrib insitall goes, the "yum install smeserver-sme7admin --enablerepo=smecontribs"
Should be yum install smeserver-sme7admin --enablerepo=sme7contribs
The smeserver-sme7admin is in the SME 7 repository which you have now called sme7contribs.
Looks to be issues with the CenTos repo
This will list all repos you have configured
db yum_repositories show
In your first post you
yum --enablerepo=sme7contribs --enablerepo=smecontribs list smeserver-*
if you had not set the sme7contrib repo then it woulkd fail, hence my original question and suggestion.

I followed the script as requested and this is what i got.

I get same error from here (Oz) when attempting an install of that contrib on a 7.6 setup.
Looks like there is an issue outside of your direct control ie upstream, proxies etc etc .
You could try and wget the other dependency rpms as well (to the same folder), and then do yum local install.
If this continues it will be better to lodge a bug report, better minds than mine there.

appreciate your help Terry, I've set-up three of these boxes for clients and friends over the last three weeks for web-filter purposes using "dansguardian" All the systems act as server/gateway mode.
All work well.
I seem to be getting problems with "localinstall" as well. - this when trying to install "sysmon" :-?

This particular site which isn't different from the others seems to be problematic??
I want to install sme7admin for monitoring purposes- doesn't seem to like it??
Ill work away at it and if no joy will post a bug. Thanks John (NZL)

No worries, but, does that site use same provider etc, same hardware etc for outside connections, you can see where I am going.
Theres something on that route between the box and the relevant files. Firewall?, Proxy? Other hardware configs?
If it was urgent and withinn your power I would maybe try, just to confirm, move that box to a network that is known to be OK and confirm it updates etc.
A search on the forums here coughs up a few of the same scenarios, some with definet answers, some with no conclusive answers and problem disappears after a few days.
Good Luck
