Either the device you are querying is not SNMP compliant or SNMP is configured on the remote device to not accept your connection.
Hope this helps,

How can i tell if the device is SNMp complinent??

Why not try running mrtg against yourself.
Load the smnp software and set it up to look at your own interfaces.
Have you tried that. It works for me.

Found a reference to it on the MRTG site www.mrtg.org if I recall correctly.
Remenber to link the /etc/rc.d/init.d entry to /etc/rc.d/rc7.d/S90snmp of it won't start, I know you should template it but it works for testing.
