Hi,
I have installed SARG as per contrib instructions on a fresh SME8 server. It does not report and gives the following error by mail (2nd day now)
:
/etc/cron.daily/sarg:
/etc/cron.daily/sarg: line 13: 24697 Segmentation fault /usr/bin/sarg $LOG_FILES -o /var/www/sarg/daily -d $YESTERDAY > /dev/null 2>&1
I am not using dansguardian. I checked /etc/cron.daily/sarg but I do not see anything strange. /var/log/squid/access.log is filled

Run a diagnostic test on your hard drive(s) and search these forums on
Segmentation fault
I'm sure there are previous answers that may assist you.

I checked the hardware (hdd, mem). No problems. And no problems on any other contribs.
I see some bug fixes is sarg for Segfault in x86_64 in release 2.2.4. http://sarg.sourceforge.net/sarg.ChangeLog.txt (http://sarg.sourceforge.net/sarg.ChangeLog.txt). The version in contribs is 2.2.3.1. Does anyone have a howto on update.

Hi!
I had this same issues with the 64bit version of sarg. I uninistall smeserver-sarg and sarg. Then I found a sarg i368 rpm and installed. Reinstalled smeserver-sarg via yum and it is working again!

You could find smeserver-sarg from here
http://distro.ibiblio.org/smeserver/releases/obsolete/7.6/smecontribs/i386/RPMS/
& probably sarg from the dag el4 repo
