Title: Setting up Install Process No package smeserver-pydio available Error: Nothing
Post by: nsongila on November 03, 2013, 12:30:47 AM
Hi there, I have installed SME Server 9 Beta1 for testing purposes.
I have a problem with the installation of addons.
For example: I tried to install pydio and I am getting the following error:
No package smeserver-pydio available Error: Nothing
I tried different addons and I am still getting the addons installation error.
The server is up to date. Before submitting my request, I checked online first if I could find a solution.
Can someone help me?

Thanks

SME9 is still in beta.

There have been NO contribs setup nor a repoistory for same..all that is still for the future..

Have a look here for an idea when contribs "may" begin to become abvailable to test against SME9 in its beta cycle. http://wiki.contribs.org/SME9.0_Roadmap

Firstly beta 2 is available, so it is better that you install the beta 2 version for testing.

As you say this is for testing purposes, then in order to try out contribs, I suggest you configure & enable the sme8 smecontribs repo.
Eg name it smecontribs-8 to avoid future confusion/conflict with the sme9 smecontribs repo (later).
You may also need to configure other sme8/external repos as proves necessary to obtain dependencies etc, I suggest also naming those in the format "reponame-8" etc.
By doing this you may be able to install contribs to see if they are functional or otherwise see what problems there may be.
Please report your results in bugzilla against each contrib, & it would also be good if you could also post a link here in the forums to any bug reports you create.

There is no contribs yet for sme9, SME9 is just now for a purpose of tests to help its development.

Yes, there're a few contribs for SME9 now. Most contribs we (Firewall Services) maintain, including pydio, smeserver-pydio and smeserver-shared-folders (the 3 are needed for pydio) are working on SME9, and available in their repo (either smecontribs or fws for SME9). You just have to configure external repo for EL6 (like EPEL) for dependencies

Not yet in production, but we've already ported all the activily maintained contribs, and we should start our first production SME9 setup quite soon
