Title: [SOLVED] - IP Settings lost after reboot
Post by: cyberfido on November 11, 2013, 12:13:32 PM
Hi all.
I modified IP Setting of my SMEServer and to do this I accessed the console, by using admin user.
After changing the local IP address, netmask, gateway it asks to restart the system and so I do.
The problem is that after the reboot all the Ip settings changed where overrided by the older ones.
How can I mantain the IP settings after reboot?
Thank you in advance.
Tell me if I've been not much clear in explanation.

This should work without any other action. Please open a bug on Bugzilla (http://bugs.contribs.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=SME%20Server%208.X) and add as much details as possible.

Thanks

Is this an sme 8.0 server ?
Have you run the yum update & ensured it has all the latest updates & bug fixes ?

yes, it's a sme 8.0 server.
I tried the yum update and updated all the packages requested.
I've done two reboots: one after yum update and one after console modify and now seems all new settings were taken.
I didnt' tell you before, and it's important to understand the situation, that the server was migrated from XenServer to Proxmox (it's a VM).
So I think that maybe is something related also to eth0 MAC address.
Now seems OK.

I vaguely recall a bug that may have been the cause of your problem, so updating may well have fixed it now.
