Hi,
I've noticed that all of the logs that are generated in /var/log/samba are empty, if a new machine connects it generates the log.XXXXXXXXX entry but it's is 0 bytes. I've restarted the server and it makes no difference.
I'm presuming that I've missed something really simple as I've checked another server (version 8.0) and it's doing the same, however in version 7.6 it seems to log as expected. I can't recall doing anything but updates since then.
If anyone can shed any light it would be appreciated as I've been searching and think I'm looking too far into it.
