Title: Server Manger 503 Error after Installing SquidGuard
Post by: GTS on February 12, 2014, 08:41:20 PM
I installed SquidGuard using the SME packaged version per http://wiki.contribs.org/SquidGuard.  After running signal-event post-upgrade and signal-event reboot I could no longer access Server Manager. The browser (have tried several) reports a 503 error Service Temporarily Unavailable.  The server is otherwise working normally including web access.  SquidGuard is not filtering anything.
I'm not too concerned about SquidGuard functionality at this point but urgently need to fix Server Manager. I would appreciate any advice on how to trouble shoot this.

GTS

For URGENT resolution, just uninstall the package(s) you installed
yum remove packagename
or
rpm -e packagename

Then try again on a test system or investigate further before reinstalling squidguard

Thank you! That worked.
I will work with SquidGuard on a test server next as you suggested.

Give a try to this: http://wiki.contribs.org/WebFiltering
Using with success on my site too; it's based on SquidGuard and adds virus check too.

Thank you. It looks promising.
