Title: high bandwidth consumed by freepbx server.
Post by: deep123 on February 13, 2014, 07:56:00 PM
We use freepbx for our voip lines, and configured it using live IP provided by our ISP. But, at times our freepbx server takes lots of bandwidth which is creating a major issue. Also, a important thing I should mention that recently in our router QOS service, I have set xlite (this is the softphone we use) as a high priority. Is there any other issue than QOS things which create this issue.

I think you are likely asking your question in the wrong place.

Might be better asked under Asterisk Sail. I might refer you to the essay on reporting bugs, but not tonight. What kind of bandwidth do you have? How many calls are up? What compression algorithm are you using? Are you experiencing some kind of Sip attack?

The fact that VOIP is a real time event, it should be prioritized at the router level. Whether priority settings like DSCP go beyond your router, is in the hands of your isp, etal.

I myself like local sip provider equipment versus living life in the cloud.
