My SME SERVER network clients have Avira Free antivirus. For the past week, they have been unable to update the antivirus. The report states the following:
"Downloading of 'http://46.17.234.72/update/idx/master.idx'.
Download manager: Server returned status 'bad request' while downloading the file 'http://46.17.234.72/update/idx/master.idx'.
Retrying....."
I suspect SME SERVER is blocking the download of the file master.idx. How do I unblock the download of .idx files?

Thank you for the response. I think you missed my point. The desktop clients are all windows based. I use SME SERVER as the proxy. The windows clients are no longer updating their Avira antivirus software. I need a way of enabling the download of .idx files which the SME SERVER is not permitting at the moment.

I tried to download manually the file from
http://46.17.234.72/update/idx/master.idx
and..
Invalid URL
The requested URL "/update/idx/master.idx", is invalid.

I get the same response as Stefano, & no proxy here also.
The problem is at Aviras end, they will need to fix it.
I suggest you contact Avira rather than contribs.org
