No.
It would be insecure.
You need to use a modem that has an Ethernet connection.

(1) You have two threads going for the one problem, started within 1 hour of each other ( see http://forums.contribs.org/index.php/topic,50602.0.html )
Not a good idea.

(2) You problem is with the D-Link modem. Go to the D-Link support site for help on fixing your problem with bridging. They will have information on how to do it.

(3) As a general rule when seeking help, describe your problem with as much detail as possible and someone will be able to help. It is much better to describe your problem and ask for help than to describe your proposed solution and ask for help. Your "solution" may not actually be addressing the problem.

Have a look at this site http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html

Cheers and good luck.

Do you really mean an "addled modem"? I guess not :-)

SME server doesn't support any internal ADSL modems.
