Title: SME v5.5 - ready for production?
Post by: Drew on August 13, 2002, 03:18:49 AM
What are your thoughts - Is SME v5.5 ready for "production" servers?  I'm just curious how many of you are running SME v5.5 servers at this point, or are you waiting for the first 'service pack'.

I am using 3 x SME 5.5 as my Email, SMB, VPN Server
1 x SME 5.12 as my second email backup server
They are perfect........and very easy to handle

Using SME v5.5 as an everything server with 100 users no probs. I don't know if you noticed but if you go to the blades on the server manager the first update is already there.

Yes. The first update is already there, but if you've downloaded the stable release .iso file, and installed it from that, it has all the blade updates installed already.
So don't bother wasting download time..

It's very little download time; all that's downloaded is the blade RPM itself, which is only a few KB.  No real need for it, true, but it's pretty minimal.
