Hi,
I've run into a perplexing problem and I can't seem to find the right Windows tweak or SME/Samba setting. I have a small work group (<6 machines) connected to an SME server. The main application they run is a MS Access-based POS terminal. Since upgrading from an old version of CentOS with an older version of Samba to SME 8.1 they've reported that the mapped drive disconnects. In non-DB applications the drive seems to auto-reconnect. However the DB application is much less forgiving and it hangs requiring a reboot.
I can't be sure, but I believe this is happening when there is some period of inactivity on the workstation. The DB application remains open and connected, but the end-user has left the workstation to help a customer and comes back to find it locked up.
Any thoughts on what I need to do either on the Windows workstation or SME Server to prevent the drive from disconnecting?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

this is (obviously) a windoze issue
take a look here:

and, generically, ask google "windows 7 map network drive timeout"
