I think I would like to update the wiki for this add in smeserver-raidmonitor because Im a bit a a loss how to access it or what it is doing. Yes I know what raid is etc. and I think more tools on raid would be helfully. But I dont know how to access this tool. The wiki doesnt say.
I followed the instructions to install, but I dont see any new titles in the server-manager. Perhaps its a command based program. Anyway it seems that I cant see how to use it.
I also dont really understand what
smeserver-raidmonitor
The latest version of smeserver-raidmonitor is available in the SME repository, click on the version number(s) for more information.
Means in the wiki, I would like to add a little more info to help out others on this.
Can anyone flesh out a few more details. Or perhaps I am completely missing something.
Regards

I think it should be removed. It's very old, unmaintained and obsolete.

That functionality is in the base install of sme server, so no add on contrib is needed.
If your RAID array fails or a disk fails etc, you will get warning messages.
You will also get messages as the RAID array automatically rebuilds, which it will do under certain failure situations.

So for clarity,
Soo, are we saying that this contrib and all, albeit short documentation should be removed. Is that what I hear you'all saying?
OR short of that should I put a note at the top,
"This contrib does not need to be installed as it has now been build into current versions?"
I think it would be best to remove the whole thing as this make it clearer, but I don't feel that that is my place.
Please advise.
Thank you.

Yep, that is what we are saying.

That would be OK, but it's not quite accurate. The contrib hasn't been built into current versions, but equivalent functionality has been.

If you can do it, go ahead. You're as good as anyone else.

Done. Thanks for the heads up.
