Title: new public ip address
Post by: scree74 on June 07, 2014, 07:34:08 PM
Hi

I have just moved my server onto a new public IP address and I have two issues

1) when I first login from my email client I am getting the following
the server you are connected to is using a security certificate that cannot be verified.

2) if I click through and continue to use the server when sending mail I am getting
550 Relaying denied (#5.7.1)

Help Please  :???:

Hi scree74
You need to tell us a lot more about your configuration so we can help you.
As a first guess (and it is only a guess) the email configuration on your server may still be using settings relating to the OLD set-up not the NEW one.
Cheers
Ian

Some questions whose answers may be relevant:
- Are you accessing your server by name or IP address?
- If you login to WEBmail and look at your server's certificate, does it match the name or ip you are using to access your server?
- Did you "install" or "trust" your server's old certificate on your client system?
- Is your mail client still talking to the old IP address (now someone else's server) for SMTP?
- Is your mail client using smtps with authentication, or had you configured your server to allow email relay without authentication?
