Title: Linux Client - as Windows XP Replacement - Join SME Server domain

Hi,
I have many workstation with Windows XP,
i would like to replace all of windows xp machine with Linux desktop software,
are there any suggestion, what kind of distro can meet our needed,
especially that can join the domain which are provide by the SME Server.

I manage a customer with 10 Xubuntu 12.04 LTS  32/64 workstations with good results; more or less I followed the the how-to linked by Stefano.
 (Xubuntu is very indicated with dated hw and if you don't like Unity)
Printing via CUPS direct printing to printers (this is the main thing You have to take care of: many printers but not all printers are supported in Cups; Postscript is usually your best choice).
Mail and PIM with Sogo and Thunderbird
Backup of local settings (Tb profiles, Favorites ecc..) to an ibay with DejaDup.

I use CentOS 6.5 as Client and SME 8.1 as PDC ...
