I've got everything set up on my home network sme 8.1 in bridge mode to my modem adsl. the main reason for doing this is i need to monitor my Internet usage, we change to a new Internet provider everything was good for a month or so, then the data usage went throug the roof. it's not like that someone has gained access to my local wireless of course it is possible. so if anyone can guide me to which would be the best add on for this purpose would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance.

From the command line, you can check with iptraf which is installed by default. I personnaly prefer iftop (another interactive trafic monitor from the command line) which you can install from EPEL. With those tools, you should be able to track which internal IP is consumming the bandwidth

There are graphical tools too (vnstat, sme8admin, ntop, zabbix), but to quickly find who's using what, interactive tools from the shell will be far more efficient
