hi
Where could I find the SME Server specific GROUPS to build SME compatble RPMs ?
In SME 9 / CentOS 6.5:
$ cat /usr/share/doc/rpm*/GROUPS
Amusements/Games
Amusements/Graphics
Applications/Archiving
Applications/Communications
Applications/Databases
Applications/Editors
Applications/Emulators
Applications/Engineering
Applications/File
Applications/Internet
Applications/Multimedia
Applications/Productivity
Applications/Publishing
Applications/System
Applications/Text
Development/Debuggers
Development/Languages
Development/Libraries
Development/System
Development/Tools
Documentation
System Environment/Base
System Environment/Daemons
System Environment/Kernel
System Environment/Libraries
System Environment/Shells
User Interface/Desktops
User Interface/X
User Interface/X Hardware Support
But for example, in my eclipse workspace :
$ cd ~/workspace/RPMS/smeserver-nfs/SPECS
$ egrep '(Group)' --color=always smeserver-nfs.spec
Group: Networking/Daemons
and rpmlint doesn't realy like "Networking/Daemons"
The value of the Group tag in the package is not valid. Valid groups are:
[...]
and it's the same for a lot of specific rpms from SME Server srpms !
Of course i can build the rpms with this .spec files but i would like to be rpmlint friendly and SME Server compatible ;-)

Please join the devinfo ML And ask there, thank you

hi Stefano,
and thanks for your answer ;-)
the devinfo ML why not : http://lists.contribs.org/pipermail/devinfo/ (http://lists.contribs.org/pipermail/devinfo/) but do you really find it alive?
Ok I will make an effort but if i don't like the anwser I won't try a lot ! I'm thinking that this forum need a developpers category if you want more developpers for SME Server.
and anyway I made a bash script to remove all bad Groups and bad paths from SME Server .spec files to get less warnings from rpmlint. It's necessary for automatic continuous delivery system ;-)
B.Regards

Devs use bugzilla to discuss many aspects..
but if i don't like the anwser I won't try a lot !
sincerely, IMVHO you are using the wrong approach..
I'm thinking that this forum need a developpers category if you want more developpers for SME Server.
then join devinfo ml, bugzilla and use the existing tools to discuss your ideas and improve SME.. fragmentation of time, resources, ideas is not the solution..

since you have such a skills and "energy", invest them in SME here, not elsewhere..

You are right Stefano !
Be sure i appreciate your position and the fact you keep on trying to convince me ;-)

It's not our strategy. We will release the SMEserver-edu 9.0 iso, and after that, we will certainly take the decision to found another french/european non-profit organisation.
Except if the Koozali board is organizing a new vote and a safe system to let all the community users to express its opinion without the risk of any censure from the webmasters!
If they do that and if users vote for them again, then ok, i will change my position and i will try to work with them !
I'm thinking they will never be ready to take this risk !
It's a pity because SME Server could be as good as others "SME/Home Server" solutions (ex:https://www.amahi.org/ (https://www.amahi.org/)) with another strategy !
B.Regards
