setting up MySQL and ODBC so open office has a database.

this HOWTO tells how, http://www.unixodbc.org/doc/ -> last link
except i seem to hit most of the gotchas
would someone else like to try and report back

problems including but not limited to,
-failed dependancies on suggested rpms i found
-mysql database test to be created
-libraries go to /usr/local/lib , need ln -s
-/etc/odbc*.ini not created
