Title: vmware tools on sme 9?

Hi,

does anyone know where to get and howto install vmware tools for sme9?

help would be apreciated. I never did get them to work under sme8.

Notes for ESXi 5.1 are just above that on the same page.

If you're not running ESXi v5.1 or v5.5, you'll need to modify the repo BaseURL setting to match your vmware host version.

My wife also always insists things are staring me in the face and still I can't find them. Please excuse me for being somewhere between lossless and clueless:-)

That's not your fault......the man is a hunter and he needs a  panoramic view...so it is normal that you cannot see stuff near.

Follow the instructions here i have just installed Oracle virtualbox on a fresh install of sme server 9 one caveat once you have installed the virtualbox repo issue this command

yum search all --enablerepo=virtualbox VirtualBox

pick the latest version

 VirtualBox 4.0 on SME Server v8 beta 6 works for sme9 (http://wiki.contribs.org/VirtualBox_4.0_on_SME_Server_v8_beta_6 "newwindow") (follow this first)

Phpvirtualbox this makes life easy (http://wiki.contribs.org/Phpvirtualbox "newwindow")

@stiperstones : simply install smeserver-phpvirtualbox and smeserver-virtualbox....  you will have all installed
