Hi all
Stupid question....is it better to use pci network card over m/board onboard network?

Other people may feel differently, but I can't see any reason why that might be true.

it doesn't matter which one you use, just be sure it's fully compatible/certified for RH5 (SME8) or RH6 (SME9)
moreover, if onboard chipset is realtek or nvidia.. buy a intel based nic (preferably a server class one), install it and enjoy
