Title: Hosting website outside of office, not on SME server issue
Post by: Gaetan on October 01, 2014, 05:35:59 PM
Hi,
I use the SME server as a mail server - but host my website with an IPS.
My SME server uses the same domain name as the website: i.e.: www.domain.com

So, within the office, I get a blank page when typing the domain url - logic behavior because it is not installed onto the SME server.

How can I tell the SME server to connect onto the ISP hosting when I want to view my website online ?
I have tried with a frame in the index.php file on the SME server but it is not satisfactory.

Can someone guide me please ?

Thanks

Use the "hostnames and addresses" menu entry in Server manager, and Pop in the IP address of the external website into the "www.<yourdomain>" entry.

Sometimes need to reboot the server for it to action.

edit:get the server manager menu entry right!
