Title: client's e-smith server does not forward global remote www
Post by: Myke Colbert on August 16, 2002, 05:13:29 AM
I've seen other similar posts and have tried their fixes to no avail.  1.  "mydomain.com" e-smith server is used for mail and gateway/firewall.  2.  www is hosted externally  3.  using lynx on server I am able to access true www at host  4.  from internal network when trying to access the site the default e-smith server external webpage goes into a crazy loop  5. I have tried clearing squid cache, re-typing in admin gui www remote ip and the rebooting.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

As opposed to using ipmasqadm portfw, I instead use redir, redir is a separate TCP wrapper.  If you want to give it a whirl kick me off an email, I've already pre-compiled it so unless you want to compile it from src the binary should be sufficient.

Hope this helped,
