I just have a couple of questions regarding egroupware on SME.
Under the admin account I notice the option to add users. Does this or is this supposed to work with adding users to SME?
There is also the ability for users to change their passwords. Does this this change their password in sme or only in egroupware. Is it supposed to change it in sme?
Thanks.

are EGW's users defined into EGW's db or are they "real" users?
NOTE: I don't use/know EGW

All authentications are done by an imap authentication....so you can create an user in egroupware but you can't connect to that user in egroupware.
It is the same if you want to change the user password...you have to do it trought the server-manager or the user-manager...no changes are allowed in egroupware.
If you want to create a new user in egroupware, please do it in the server-manager first and after connect you in egroupware

Unfortunate but good to know...
Thank you very much.

Just accidentally passing by while searching for something else, so maybe it is of any use more than 1,5 years later:
You can switch user authentication in https://yourserver/egw/setup/config.php from "Mail" to "SQL" and from then on have totally independent egroupware users.
