Has anyone experience of using e-smith as a file server for an MYOB database using Macintosh clients?
There seem to be record locking issues with multi-user MYOB and Windows clients, but I am not sure whether this is a problem on the Mac platform.

I don't recall the specific incident, but it was enough of a problem that
we explicitly warn about MYOB against SME Server in the Macintosh
section of the user manual:

Thanks for that!
I had downloaded the SME Server V5 with Service Link user guide 5.1 from the Mitel site, as a PDF file, and it is subtly different from the manual in the link you pointed me too.
In the PDF version, the available volume list illustrated explicitly shows an available volume entitled MYOB data, and I had taken that, together with the note at the bottom of the page to indicate that MYOB DID in fact work on e-smith. I had read the note to say that some programs may not work well but the certain specific nuances in MYOB allows it to work OK!
Thanks

No experience with Macintosh, only PC, but have been running MYOB (standard & premier) on ESSG & SME for a couple of years with no related problems.

Unfortunately I am Mac based, and there is a specific warning against using Mac MYOB in the documentation. :-(
A real pity but I shall check this out with MYOB as well, and report here if there is anything new.
