Title: PPTP access problems
Post by: Jacob on August 16, 2002, 09:04:44 PM
Hello all,
I am having trouble connecting via PPTP on my 5.1.2 server.
My client just stalls at "verifying username and password" and says that the remote host dropped the connection.
I have windows 98 computers, NT and 2000 and neither of them are able to connect. I am wondering about all of the settings in the client like "software compression and server type....Can someone give me step by step instructions on setting up the connection?
Also, have there been changes in SME 5.5 that would make any of this easier?

Thanks for any help,
Jacob

No, sorry, SME 5.5 does not make Windows any easier to use :-)

Try

and also search for win98-se.exe in these forums. It has been answered before.
You will find some other stuff too.
I believe Win 2K sp2 is 128 bit, but earlier versions were not
