Title: Resolving single hostname outside my LAN
Post by: nicolatiana on November 24, 2014, 11:01:31 PM
Sme Server 8.1 configured with domain.it as main domain.
Let say that www.domain.it (or mail.domain.it) is hosted by my ISP: in Hostname & Addresses panel I add www.domain.it (or mail.domain.it) with the corresponding public address of my ISP and so I can resolve www.domain.it from my LAN.
My ISP sometimes changes the public IP resolving to www.domain.it so I can't resolve www.domain.it (from my LAN) unless I manually change the IP address.
Is there another way to configure this "dinamically", resolving a single hostname with a public/external DNS ?

Nicola

Configuration > Domains

Try "Domain DNS servers" to "resolve remote" (Server DNS Internet in italian).

I've one server with this configuration and it's working good.
