Title: Tracking reboot cause
Post by: ElFroggio on December 26, 2014, 11:23:06 PM
Hi,

I had a reboot of the server that is unexplained. I haven't found the cause. I have checked messages: dmesg, var/log... I don't see what could have cause SME 9 to reboot. It wasn't electricity since other devices staid powered.

Any further idea on where/what to look for?

Thanks

Syv

Is your server on a UPS?, as a momentarily low voltage event will cause some hardware appliances to shutdown/restart and some to not.

Memory issues could lead to very strange effects.

Yes, there's a smaller UPS set to 3 minutes before shutdown. The UPS didn't initiate the shutdown.
